Learning objectives
The aim of the course is to provide theoretical and methodological knowledge, as well as operational and practical skills, concerning: 1) physiological ageing: biological and psycho-affective changes; 2) pathological ageing: cognitive and psychological assessment in relation to the main neuro-geriatric syndromes; 3) psycho-cognitive contribution to the multidisciplinary diagnostic process and to the cognitive rehabilitation interventions. The students will acquire specific knowledge about tools and procedures for the determination of the psycho-cognitive profile in the elderly, types of cognitive rehabilitation, and methodological and clinical criteria for the choice, planning, and evaluation of cognitive interventions.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the students will be able to:
- Select and apply specific tools for the cognitive and psychological assessment in the elderly.
- Contextualize the psycho-cognitive profile within the multidimensional and multidisciplinary diagnostic assessment and the main neuro-geriatric syndromes.
- Select, plan, and evaluate cognitive rehabilitation programs tailored according to the individual and social characteristics.
