Learning objectives
This course will provide knowledge about the internal organization of nursery industries and about science-based management techniques. Key agricultural processes related to nursery production of woody plants will be examined, as well as legal aspects of the production process. Environmental issues related to nursery production will also be addressed.
Expected learning outcomes
This course will provide informations about how a nursery is structured, about plant propagation and reproduction, about sound cultural techniques for field- and container-grown stock, and about plant protection in nurseries. The course will provide the skills needed for working in the nursery industry, including a teorethical background of species-specific plant propagation processes, plant management and plant quality evaluation.

Fundamentals of morpho-biology of the cultivated trees and agronomy
Teaching methods
The course includes lectures (38 hours, 4,75 CFU) and field work (20 hours, 1,25 CFU), which will be done in cooperation with some nurseries in the region.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The exam will take place through an oral interview aimed at ascertaining the knowledge acquired by the candidate on the theoretical and technical aspects treated during the course. The oral exam is made of 4 main questions about plant propagation, cultivation, quality and management.
