EU Disaster Response Law in an International Context30-06-2015

Summer School on the Union Civil Protection Mechanism established in 2013, to promote solidarity and facilitate the coordination of EU Member States' actions, 7-11 September, Milan. Application deadline: 15 August 2015.

The department of International, Legal, Historical and Political Studies (DILHPS) of the University of Milan - with the support of the LLP Programme of the European Union - organizes a Summer School on "EU Disaster Response Law in an International Context"aiming at deepening the knowledge of EU action.

The School’s program focuses on the the Union Civil Protection Mechanism, established in December 2013, in order to promote solidarity and facilitate the coordination of Member States' actions, “with a view to improving the effectiveness of systems for preventing, preparing for and responding to natural and man-made disasters”.

The Faculty includes officials from the United Nations, the European Union, and the Italian civil protection, together with academics and practitioners from NGOs involved in humanitarian aid. Interactive lectures and case studies will provide students a deep insight into the legal framework of disaster assistance and the cooperation mechanisms among EU States.
