Awarded with a grant from ACRI, the Italian Association of Foundations and Savings Banks, the project designed by our Department of Cultural Heritage and Environment aims to highlight the role of emotions in arts, by stressing the interaction between aesthetics and cognitive science.

"Aesthetics of Emotions: Arts and cognitive science" is the title of the research project by our Department of Cultural Heritage and Environment, awarded with the Young Investigator Training Program Grant, from the Association of Foundations and Savings Banks (ACRI).
Aiming to support scientific research and international collaboration between research centers, the Young Investigator Training Program encourages mobility of young foreign or Italian scientists, working abroad, by supporting their short research stays in Italy, and/or their participation in major international conferences organized by Italian research institutions.
The ambitious purpose of our winning research project is to highlitht the role of emotions in Arts, by working on recovering a more strong interaction between aesthetics and cognitive science.
The project implies the selection of 13 young foreigners or Italians researchers, working abroad, who will spend an entire month at the Department of Cultural Heritage and Environment, or at another partner university, to deepen their research program.
The outcome of their work will be then presented during a three-day international conference to be held in October 2016.
