Academic Year

October to September.

The first semester courses usually start at the beginning of October and last until January, while the second semester courses start at the end of February and finish in June.

Please note that some Faculties may have different calendars (e.g. 1st semester courses at the Faculties of Medicine and Social and Political Sciences run from September to December; Law courses run from mid-October to April).



Academic Holidays

  • Christmas and New Year's Day holidays: from 23rd December until 7th January
  • Ambrosian Carnival holidays (3 days, during the Carnival week)
  • Easter holidays: from Thursday to Wednesday, during the Easter period
  • 1st May/Labour Day
  • 15th August
  • 1st November (All Saints)
  • 7th December (St Ambrose, Patron Saint of Milan).
  • 8th December (Immaculate Conception)



How to Reach Us

The main building of the University of Milan can be found in the city centre, in via Festa del Perdono 7. It is also home to the Rector’s Office and the Central Administration offices, which include the Permanent Training Office (Ufficio Formazione Permanente -for Masters and Advanced Courses application).
 

The Foreign Students Office (Ufficio Studenti stranieri) is located in Via S. Sofia 9/1 – a five minute walk from via Festa del Perdono.

The EU Training Programmes Office – Erasmus Section (Ufficio Programmi comunitari di formazione) is located in Via S. Antonio 12 – a three minute walk from via Festa del Perdono.

Buses (54, 60, 73, 84, 94) trams (12,14,15, 16, 23, 24, 27) and the underground (Duomo station- line 1;  Missori station- line 3) all stop nearby.


"Città Studi" can easily be reached by underground line 2 (Piola station), but there are also buses (61, 62, 90, 91, 93) and trams (23,33) that stop nearby.


If you are arriving from abroad:

Linate Airport is about 10 km from Milan city centre.
Take bus N° 73 to the city centre and get off at Piazza San Babila  (close to the underground station - line 1/red line), a few minutes walk from the Università degli Studi di Milano.

Malpensa Airport is about 50 km from Milan city centre.
There are links to the Central Station (by bus) and to Cadorna Railway Station  (by Malpensa Express train). Once you are at Cadorna station take Bus 94 (P.ta Nuova) if you intend to go to Via Festa del Perdono or underground -line 2  (to Piola station) - if you are heading for Città Studi.

The Central Station (Stazione Centrale), Milan's main railway station, is located at the hub of the transport network. This is also where the main underground lines intersect (line 1/red line; line 2/green line; line 3/yellow line).
