The course "Methodologies of Visual Culture Studies_I" investigates the connection between the forms of visual representation and the forms of knowledge, addressing the historicity of perception and of the gaze from a theoretical point of view (within the framework of approaches developed by visual culture studies) as well as through the the analysis of specific materials and case studies, with particular reference to the impact of visual media on the sensotium and to the social uses and the technical and affective dimensions of images.
