The School of Sciences and Policies for Mountain Regions of the University of Milan provides students with the necessary expertise to address the environmental, social and economic challenges faced by mountain areas.
Capitalising on the thirty-year-long history of UNIMONT, the University's mountain campus in the Alps, the School fosters an interdisciplinary approach that brings together environmental sciences, agriculture and forestry, veterinary medicine, social and economic sciences, law and technological innovation to promote the sustainable development and valorisation of mountain environments.
The School is located in Edolo, a mountain village nestled in the Camonica Valley, in the province of Brescia. It coordinates the work of six Departments and also draws on the scientific expertise of the Ge.S.Di.Mont. Research Centre, whose advanced research projects and outreach activities to promote the sustainable development of mountain areas contribute to a highly specialised and innovative teaching offer.
