Unit 1: OMICS infrastructure for proteomics, lipidomics and metabolomics
The unit will focus on the different approaches used in the study of omics sciences mass spectrometry-based. In addition will be presented the analytical tools for the target and untarget metabolomics. A visit of the unitech OMICs will complete the Unit.
Unit 2: INDACO infrastructure for high-performance computing, molecular modeling, drug design and big data analysis
This unit will introduce students to the bases of high-performance computing, with particular attention to molecular modeling of proteins for biochemistry, biotechnology and pharmacology, to drug design for the rational development of novel bioactive compounds, and to big data analysis for "omics" sciences and statistics. A practical part (EOPS) with the possibility to directly operate on INDACO is included in the present unit.
Unit 3: NoLimits infrastructure for live and high resolution imaging.
The unit will focus on different approaches used in the field of confocal and electron microscopy. In particular, the use of live imaging and super-resolution (SIM) imaging will be also described.
At the end of the course, a common meeting will be scheduled to discuss the interaction between the UNITECHs and to allow the verification of the learning outcame.
