Programma
The course analyses different market structures: from economic competitive markets to monopoly situation. The core of the program lies on oligopoly models and strategic interactions. An important part is dedicated to anticompetitive strategies: limit Pricing and entry deterrence. Another important part of the course is vertical product differentiation: R &D , patents and Patent Policy. A particular focus will be on empirical applications of specific topics.
Prerequisiti
Pre-requisites
We suggest to look over to the basic microeconomic notions, namely demand and cost curves, even though we will refresh them extensively.

Assessment Method
A written exam, with questions regarding theory and exercises.
If the students are interested can develop small dissertations in groups about specific topics. The final score will be calculated as weighted average of the written examination and of the small dissertation.
Metodi didattici
Classes are very important also for the final exam. The course will host some experts, belonging to companies, business association, competition and antitrust advisors, intellectual property and competition law world. The teacher is available for students who wish to organize groups for developing specific subjects of the course.
