Obiettivi formativi
The course aims to provide students with a general understanding of psychopathology and the main psychiatric disorders. In addition, students will gain a general understanding of the neurobiological models underlying aspects of human behaviour related to specific cognitive functions.
Risultati apprendimento attesi
At the end of course, students will be able to understand and illustrate the clinical aspects of the main psychiatric disorders. They will also be able to interpret a variety of human behavioural aspects on the basis of the presented neurobiological models.

Responsabile
Didactic Activity will be offered by Microsoft Teams. All classes can be followed both synchronously based (based on the second semester schedule) and asynchronously because all Lecture will be recorded and let available to students on the same platform.
In any case, the synchronous mode is preferable and strongly recommended as it allows the active participation of students through the formulation of questions and the discussion of the topics covered.
If National Regulation and University of Milan regulations, concerning social distancing, allow it, 50% of the Lessons will be held in person and simultaneously transmitted online.
Participation in face-to-face lessons will be voluntary and strongly recommended.

Psychiatry (24 hours)
- History of Psychiatry and Nosography: 4 hours
- General Psychopathology and Delirium: 4 hours
- Schizophrenia: 2 hours
- Mood Disorders: 2 hours
- Anxiety Disorders: 2 hours
- ADHD: 1 hour
- Eating Disorders: 1 hour
- Personality Disorders: 2 hours
- Substance Misuse: 2 hours
- Pharmacological Treatments: 3 hours
- Compulsory Hospitalization and Organization of Mental Health Management: 1 hour

Neuroscience (16 hours)
- Which Biomarkers for Unipolar Depression? 4 hours
- Is There an Association between Immune System and Substance-Induced Psychosis? 2 hours
- Outcome Predictors in Bipolar Disorder: 2 hours
- Internet Addiction: Is this condition Treatable? 2 hours
- Air Pollution and Mental Health: 2 hours
- The Neurobiology of Parenthood and Romantic Love: 2 hours
- The Neurobiology of Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation: 2 hours
Prerequisiti
The students should have basic knowledge of neuroanatomy, neurophysiology and neuropsychopharmacology.
Metodi didattici
The course will be conducted through lectures and workshops. Slides of lectures and workshops will be uploaded on Ariel.

Modalità di verifica dell’apprendimento e criteri di valutazione
The achievement of learning objectives will be verified through a written multiple-choice test (31 questions). The tests will be corrected immediately and the accuracy of at least 15 questions will allow to access to an oral interview that will define the final evaluation. The results of the written test will be announced to the students the same day after the correction.
