Reading comprehension: understanding texts that consist mainly of high frequency everyday language; understanding the description of events, feelings and wishes in personal letters.
Listening comprehension: understanding the main elements of a clear speech on familiar matters in a standard language; understanding the main elements of many radio or TV programmes on current affairs or topics of personal interest as long as the delivery is relatively slow and clear.
Reading and listening activities are scheduled in addition to the following topics: articles, pronouns, Present tense, demonstratives adjectives, possessive adjectives, prepositions, marcadores temporales, partículas interrogativas, pronombres complemento, muy/mucho, numerales, cuantificadores, ir/venir/traer/llevar, porque/por qué, pedir/preguntar, Ser/Estar/Haber, por/para, Present Continuous, Preterite Perfect, Pretérito Indefinido, Imperfect, Future, Conditional, Imperative mood, Present subjunctive (en expresiones de deseo).
Important: Students of the program Erasmus+ incoming must contact the Language Centre of the University through Infostudenti Service by selecting SLAM.
Students who attained a level lower than B1 at the entry-level test will have to attend the course.
The course consists of 40 hours of in-person learning.

To be admitted to the end-of-course test students must have attended at least 75% of the course. The assessment is computer-based. Students will have to sit for the test one week after the end of the course. It consists of four parts: 1. Grammar and vocabulary: exercises related to the topics mentioned above 2. Listening comprehension: 1 listening; 3. Reading comprehension: 1 reading; 4. Language: short and simple dialogues on daily topics and greetings.
Students who do not attain the level required by their degree program can sit for the test up to five times within their academic career.
Students with disabilities or with specific learning disabilities (SLDs) must contact SLAM through Infostudenti Service to receive special arrangements and support for the exam. (Students with disabilities: 50% of extra time; Students with SLDs 30%)
