Listening comprehension: understanding the main points of clear standard speech on familiar matters; understanding the main points of many radio or TV programmes on current affairs or topics of personal interest as long as the delivery is relatively slow and clear.

Reading and listening comprehension activities together with exercises on grammar topics will be carried out.

Prerequisiti
Students who attained a level lower than B1 at the entry-level test will have to attend the course.
Metodi didattici
The course consists of 40 hours of remote learning integrated by self-study on an online didactic platform.

To be admitted to the end-of-course test, students must have attended at least 75% of the course and completed at least 75% of the exercises on the online platform by the end of the course.
The assessment is computer-based. Students will have to sit for the test about one week after the end of the course. It consists of three parts:
1. Reading comprehension: 2 texts
2. Listening comprehension: 2 exercises
3. Language: grammar and vocabulary exercises
Students who do not attain the level required by their degree program can sit for the test up to five times within their academic career.
Students with disabilities or with specific learning disabilities (SLDs) must contact the SLAM Centre through the Informastudenti platform, 'Language Test' category, to receive special arrangements (Students with disabilities: 50% more extra time; Students with SLDs: 30% more extra time).
