Obiettivi formativi
The course aims at - providing students with the legal tools and the proper legal method to deal with public health and sustainable development in global trade law - providing a starting point to see how even one of the most important and universally recognized concepts, such as the sustainable development, can give rise to different interpretations and applications in the legal context of different States.
Risultati apprendimento attesi
By the end of this course, students should be able to: - understand and evaluate critically the international trade legal issues related to intellectual property rights and their relationship with sustainable development and the protection of public health; - have a full knowledge and comprehension of the concept of sustainable development and its different interpretations and applications in the legal context of different States; - understand and evaluate critically the jurisprudence developed by the WTO in this field and the law-making process, as currently evolving within and out of the WTO; - understand and evaluate critically the development of Public Health Systems and the impact of Coronavirus disease on such systems; - use their communication skills (written and oral) in this field, including arguing convincingly, with logical and legal thoroughness and propriety of legal language.
