Obiettivi formativi
This course provides the conceptual foundations and the practical knowledge to analyse the performance of Research Infrastructures from a social economics standpoint and informs how to design for their long-term sustainability. The presented approach links economics and data analytics methods with science policy. The course showcases CERN, the largest particle physics laboratory, and its Open Science & Innovation activities. Other research facilities, such as ESO, ESS, and SKA, are also considered. The practical work is closely linked to CERN's innovation actions, providing an opportunity to learn about and use data analytics, AI and Machine Learning technologies.

Students will gain the conceptual grounding and practical skills to analyse the socioeconomic performance of the research facilities presented in the lab through a data-driven lens.
