Ree crispres - a workshop on genome editing technologies
A.A. 2025/2026
Obiettivi formativi
This supplementary activity provides students with skills in the following areas:
· Identification of target genes for the protection of plants of agricultural interest
· Planning of experiments using genome editing
· Analysis of sequences resulting from genomic editing events
· In vitro cultures
· Phenotyping of the disease
During the pandemic emergency, workshops will be conducted online, based on e-learning and active learning platforms, including virtual labs and gamification.

Risultati apprendimento attesi
The REE lab will provide 3 CFUs, for a total of 40 hours of class work. The work will be online, during the pandemic emergency. Lectures are provided on a e-learning platform and virtual labs are based on interactive, virtual experiences. The final approval is based on a project that the student independently prepares and presents to the class and the trainers. The REE lab is part of an international training project and is hosting students from two European Universities.

Modalità di verifica dell’apprendimento e criteri di valutazione
The knowledge acquired by the students is evaluated through a final report, based on a given .doc format, where they describe a project autonomously developed. If a minimum set of competencies will not be reached, the student will not have the 3 ECTS granted. The competencies will be evaluated during the final discussion. The students have to present their project during a "knowledge challenge": teams of students prepare a project on a topic of choice and using the tools learned during the class. All the teams present their project and the teachers + peers will select the best one, based on explicit criteria.
Students with SLD may request for specifically adapted evaluation modalities.
