Translational medicine and biotechnologies 2 - laboratory medicine (Clerkship)
A.A. 2025/2026
Obiettivi formativi
This clerkship is designed for students who are interested in exploring experimental approaches in translational immunology from bedside to bench to address the so-called unmet clinical needs.
The main goal of this clerkship is to provide to the student with a hands-on experience in investigating and exploiting the mechanisms of innate immunity to design novel therapeutic strategies against different human diseases, with a particular focus on viral infections, hematologic and solid tumors, and immune-mediated disorders by using cutting edge technologies.
In this clerkship, students will merge clinical, epidemiologic end experimental data that will be analyzed with both classical and computational approaches with the final aim to better understand the pathophysiology of diseases, to better predict the natural history and progression of human diseases and to identify novel cellular and molecular therapeutic targets. The use and implementation of bioinformatic methodologies will help to reduce the analytic dimensions within "big-data" datasets and make it possible to compare data of different origins.
