Milano Cortina 2026: closure of University premises on 6 February
On 6 February 2026, on the occasion of the opening of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, all university buildings located at the following addresses in Milan will be closed for public order and safety reasons:
- via Festa del Perdono 3 and 7
- via S. Antonio 5 (Casa Cardinale Ildefonso Schuster)
- piazza S. Alessandro 1
- via Mercalli 21 and 23
- via Santa Sofia 7/9, 9/1 and 11
- via Conservatorio 7
- via Passione 13
- via Livorno 1
- via Brera 28 (Botanical Gardens)
- via Pace 9 and 10 (Department of Social and Political Sciences and Academic Logistical Services Sector – Central Milan)
- via Della Commenda 19 (Library of the Central School of Medicine, Department of Biomedical, Surgical and Dental Sciences, and Department of Clinical Sciences and Community Health)
Academic activities
- In‑person classes will be held online.
- graduation sessions for the Humanities Faculty that were scheduled to take place on the via Festa del Perdono campus will be either postponed or relocated to the via Noto 8 building, in coordination with the Academic Logistical Services Sector – Central Milan.
- in-person exams will be rescheduled to a date after 6 February 2026 or, where possible, relocated to the Sesto S. Giovanni campus (piazza Indro Montanelli 1), in coordination with the Academic Logistical Services Sector – Central Milan (email: [email protected]).
Technical, administrative and library staff
Technical‑administrative and library staff may work:
- remotely, if they have a telework agreement or an individual agile-working agreement. In the latter case, the 6th of February will not count towards the maximum number of agile‑working days authorised for February 2026.
- at other premises assigned to their Division and located outside the closed area, if any, upon prior notification to their supervisor and the relevant office, only if they do not have an approved individual agile‑working agreement.
In the case of absence from work, employees will be required to enter one of the leave of absences contemplated under their employment contract.
