Clinical Orthopedics and Traumatology (qualifying activity)

Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with the knowledge to understand the physio-pathological bases, the clinical manifestations, the diagnostic procedures, and the therapeutic strategies (pharmacological, orthopaedic, surgical, and rehabilitative) of the most important pathologies of traumatic, metabolic, degenerative, infective, neoplastic, and congenital origin, involving the musculoskeletal system.
Expected learning outcomes
The students are able to.
i) identify the symptoms, collect the signs, request the diagnostics examinations, and suggest the therapeutic strategies finalized to a correct diagnosis and treatment of the principal musculoskeletal pathologies;
ii) understand and use the specific terminology used in the diagnosis of trauma and in the descriptions of the surgical procedures used in orthopaedics;
iii) evaluate the disability due to these pathologies and suggest a rehabilitative approach.
