Learning objectives
The course "English Language B2" aims at reinforcing the abilities of comprehension and use of the English language, B2 threshold level of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
In particular, the course aims at expanding and reinforcing the grammatical, syntactic, and lexical structures of the English language at a B2 level, in order to support students who might take future English certifications and to develop their language skills for professional use. Specific attention will be given to the lexicon and expressions pertaining to the legal professions.

Learning activities aim at developing oral and written communication skills in English. Students will deepen the topics taught in class through readings, written and oral exercises, active involvement in conversations, both in small groups and with the classroom, and listening activities of didactic and authentic material.
Expected learning outcomes
The learning outcomes qualify the student as an "independent user," as shown by the CEFR.
In particular, B2 students:
- can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization;
- can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party
- can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

In addition, students are strongly invited to develop an active and independent attitude towards language learning, thus facilitating that continuous and gradual improvement which will support them in their academic and professional career successfully.
