The following topics will be covered in this context:
1. Concept of disease: etiology and pathogenesis
2. The damage and the cellular response to the damage
3. Cellular response (necrosis and apoptosis)
4. Systemic response (fever/shock)
5. Acute inflammation (e.g. roiling and margination, chemotaxis, phagocytosis, inflammation mediators, systemic reactions)
6. Chronic inflammation
7. Principles of Immunopathology
8. Tumours (benign and malignant tumours, oncogenes, suppressors, metastases).
