Learning objectives
Practical activities will be used, through simulation or in the ward, to consolidate technical and soft knowledge and skills developed during frontal lectures. Students have the opportunity to interact with pediatric patients and their families in order to maximize pediatric clinical experience.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the clerkship each student should have:
- Witnessed at least one vaginal and one cesarean delivery;
- Witnessed at least one obstetrics and one gynecologic ultrasound;
- Learned as the woman's anamnesis is collected in and out of pregnancy
At the end of the clerkship each student should have:
- learned how to collect the clinical history of a infant/child with his/her parents
- learned how to perform a clinical evaluation of newborns/infants/children/adolescents
- learned how to perform the anthropometric measures according to age and how to evaluate pubertal stage
- witnessed at least 5 blood drawns in infants/children
