Learning objectives
During the second year of the internship the student will be able to be able to apply practically all the theoretical knowledge acquired during the courses of:
· Strabismus and Orthoptic Treatment I
· Pathology of the visual apparatus
· Pathology of the visual system
- Neuropsychovisual Rehabilitation
- Phisical diagnostic, diagnostic imaging and functional assessment of the eye
- Interdisciplinary Specialized Medical Science
Expected learning outcomes
In the end of the second year of clinical internship , the student must demonstrate to be able to use all the knowledge acquired during the course of:
- Strabismus and orthoptic treatment (first)
- Pathology of the visual system
- Neuropsychovisual Rehabilitation
- Phisical diagnostic, diagnostic imaging and functional
assessment of the eye
- Interdisciplinary Specialized Medical Science

At the end of clinical internship II, the student must be able to do:
All methods of diagnostic investigation of refractive and oculomotor defects.
The student should know, and must be able to use in clinical practice the main diagnostic equipment,
To be able to correctly examine the field of vision
Know how to do a clinical examination of color sensitivity with Ishihara's test, Farnsworth's test
Know how to do a clinical examination of contrast sensitivity
Be able to evaluate clinically the low vision patients in agreement by regional guidelines (Regione Lombardia MOD-03.)
Correctly fill in a rehabilitation template. Correctly fill out a treatment plan for rehabilitation and ocular prothesis
To be able to evaluate the ocular deviation and examination of ocular motility in adulthood and childhood
To be able to evaluate a cordimetric examination (Hess-Lancaster )
To be able to correct perform (HRT e OCT)
Knowing how to correctly perform ocular pachymetry
Knowing how to correctly perform ocular biometry
Knowing how to correctly perform microperimetry by use of MP1
Prerequisites for admission
The student must be passed the clinical intership exam I and have the kwoledge aquired with clinical internship I
Teaching methods
Theoretical knowledge becomes pactical skills thanks to traineeship
Are planned: drills seminars, clinical simulations,team work, setting up of written assigments, problem based learning.

Assessment methods and Criteria
Extensive clinical training will be performed from October to September.
Through "knowledge","know-how" and "knowing-how to be" will be assesed the learnig outcomes.The final judgement will be expressed in thirtieth based on the average of three evaluation sheet
