Learning objectives
Il corso è volto a fornire una panoramica della situazione sociopolitica ed economica della Spagna contemporanea nei rapporti internazionali, attraverso la lettura e l'analisi di una serie de testi di attualità in lingua spagnola. L'insegnamento mira a far sì che gli studenti acquisiscano i concetti chiave dei suddetti ambiti professionali, il lessico necessario per esprimerli ad interlocutori specialisti e non specialisti, nonché le abilità di analisi critica dei fenomeni della realtà spagnola in ambito internazionale.
Parallelamente, verrà promossa l'acquisizione delle strutture grammaticali e sintattiche della lingua spagnola fino al raggiungimento del livello B1 (intermedio), secondo i parametri di certificazione proposti dal Consiglio d'Europa; in particolare, il discente dovrà essere in grado di leggere, comprendere e tradurre testi di media difficoltà e di sviluppare la produzione orale in contesti professionali.

Syllabus
Introduction to the Spanish and Latin American socio-political framework through the reading of short informative and informative journalistic writting.
Grammar items: Pronunciation and spelling; acentuación; presente de indicativo (regular and irregular verbs); ser/estar/tener/haber;/ muy/mucho; usos de ir/venir- llevar/traer- pedir/preguntar; pretérito perfecto (regular and irregular verbs); preposiciones, imperativo afirmativo; posesivos; demostrativos, pretérito imperfecto de indicativo e pluscuamperfecto (regular and irregular verbs); pretérito indefinido (regular and irregular verbs); usos de los tiempos del pasado; numerales, relativos, indefinidos.

Syllabus

Presentation of Spain's International Relations. Group work is planned and will be taken into account for the final evaluation.
Grammar items: Oraciones sustantivas; subjuntivo en oraciones independientes, oraciones de relativo; oraciones causales; oraciones finales; condicional (regular and irregular verbs); perífrasis verbales: volver a + infinitivo; ir + gerundio.

Teaching methods
Face-to-face lessons, group work; as long as necessary, remote teaching will be carried out on Microsoft Teams and Ariel platforms, with loading of study materials and synchronous activities.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The assessment consists of:
1) computer-based grammar test (30 closed-answer questions: multiple choice and completion of sentences), aimed at ascertaining knowledge of grammatical and syntactical structures. Test duration 30 minutes.
2) interview in Spanish on the topics concerning the study materials contained in the on-line lecture notes, aimed at verifying whether the student has learned the notions concerning the economic and socio-political panorama of Spain and Latin America, knows how to express them in a clear and precise way, using the correct terminology, and knows how to formulate his/her own judgement concerning the topics studied.
-The grammar test is preparatory to the interview, which must be taken on the same day.
-Students can take the computerized grammar test as an internal test at the end of the course.
-International students must take only the computerized grammar test.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to Covid 19 emergency, more detailed information on the adaptations required by the situation will be provided near the exam dates.
RECOGNISED DIPLOMAS:
Students holding the following certificates are exempt from the grammar test, but will have to take the oral test. On the day of the exam, they will have to present the original certificate (in case of remote modalities, the modalities of early presentation of the certificates will be specified). This certificate must not be more than 5 years old:

- Instituto Cervantes (DELE) Intermedio (B1), Avanzado (B2) / (DELE) Dominio operativo eficaz (C1) / (DELE) Maestría (C2)
- Cámara española de Comercio (Spanish language courses for foreigners, indicating achievement of one of the following European levels of language proficiency: B2, C1, C2)
- Spanish and Hispano-American universities (Spanish language courses for foreigners, indicating achievement of the following European level of language proficiency: B2, C1, C2)
-Diplomas issued in Italy by institutes accredited by the MIUR for the teaching of the Spanish language (indicating achievement of one of the following European levels of linguistic competence: B1, B2, C1, C2).
