Learning objectives
The course provides an introduction to pathophysiological processes in adaptation of the body to physical activity. The major medical conditions and common injuries are examined in relation to the clinical event, exercise, and pathophysiological parameters. The course also provides knowledge in sports medicine terminology so as to facilitate communication between sports workers and physicians.
Expected learning outcomes
Students will acquire the tools to interact efficiently with sports physicians and other healthcare workers in the management of physical activity in various illness conditions. Students will learn how to advise on safety measures and manage physical activity and recreational or competition sports events, as well as identify emergency situations or potential risk of injury in physical activity.
