Learning objectives
The purpose of the course is:
- to know and to acquire the diagnostic and rehabilitative abilities in oral and written language disorders in adulthood due to alterations of the auditory (deafness), cognitive (dementia, head trauma), relational or socio-cultural systems
- to know and to acquire diagnostic and rehabilitative skills in oral and written language disorders in the developmental age due to alterations of the auditory (infantile deafness), cognitive (mental retardation), relational (pervasive developmental disorders) or socio-cultural (environmental deprivation , bi-multi-linguism) systems.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will have to demonstrate to have acquired knowledge and understanding skills related to
methodologies, tools and procedures for data collection, rehabilitative intervention and scientific evidence that guide the decision-making in the field of secondary linguistic disorders in developmental and adult age based on the Evidence Based Medicine.
Course syllabus and organization

The lessons will be on site, in accordance with the University's recommendations on social distancing. In any case, students will be able to access the lessons and teaching materials even remotely.
The program and the references will not be modified.
The exam will be written and/or oral, according to the modalities reported in the dedicated section of the teaching card. According to the Rector's decree signed on 31 July 2020, currently in force, written exams will be on site, respecting the safety protocols, and allowing international students, students who live in a different region, and students who have a severe illness to have an exam remotely, even on a different date. Oral exams will be carried out remotely on Microsoft Teams.
Prerequisites for admission
With reference to the Didactic Regulations (art.20), To access the third year, it is essential to have achieved at least nine exams of which:
· biological, physiological and morphological sciences
· linguistic, philosophical and socio-pedagogical sciences
· applied speech therapy sciences: propaedeutic
· Otolaryngological, neurological and rehabilitation sciences, Applied speech and language sciences II
· Neuropsychiatric, pedagogical and psychological sciences
The student must also have passed the 2nd year annual traineeship exam.
Assessment methods and Criteria
The assessment of the acquired knowledge and the ability to apply it will be
through written test with questions for each course proposed in different ways: open questions with short answers, closed questions with multiple choice, true / false, associations . The written test could be integrated with an oral test.
The assessment criteria are the ability to list and organize the knowledge acquired as well as their application for the resolution of short questions relating to the specific professional.
The grade will be expressed in thirties and will be the result obtained by the weighted average of the six course. The results of the exam (individual modules and overall assessment) will be communicated to the students by email and / or published on the Ariel Portal, together with the electronic report
