Complementary Course: "new Dimensions of Individual Freedom"
A.Y. 2020/2021
Learning objectives
Aim of the course is to investigate the multiple nuances assumed by individual liberty in our legal system, looking at both the evolution of its protection and the evolution of the content acquired by the legal concept of individual liberty.
The course consists of two parts: a first part will offer lectures aimed at providing the fundamental notions of fundamental rights issues; a second part, more dialogical and focused on Italian case law, will deepen the legal problems of individual freedom by taking into account the end-of-life related issues as a paradigmatic example.
At the end of the course the student will have an in-depth knowledge of the course topics related to fundamental rights and individual liberty. The student will also acquire a reasoning method suitable for dealing with more specific and complex legal issues and the ability to establish connections between the theoretical framework and concrete situations, developing an appropriate argumentative apparatus.
