Learning objectives
At the end of the course the student will:
1. Possess a theoretical-practical knowledge of the most common laboratory diagnostic techniques applied in bacteriology, virology, mycology AND parasitology.
2. Know the general organizational criteria of the Clinical Microbiology laboratory, the correct flow of procedures, the analytical control of the instruments, the methods and the related reagents, and the specific safety criteria in the Microbiology laboratory
Expected learning outcomes
Student will be able to apply the most relevant analytical procedures in clinical microbiology. He will also learn the most important diagnostic algorithm in the field of clinical microbiology.
At the end of the course the student will be able to perform the most basic microbiological tests for a correct diagnosis. She/he will apply techniques including the basic gram-stain till the most relevant and difficult diagnostic assays.
