Eu Substantive Law
A.Y. 2020/2021
Learning objectives
EU Substantive Law is an advanced course on EU law for undergraduate students. The course aims to give an in-depth understanding of several types of sector-specific EU legislation to students, who are already familiar with the institutional framework and the functioning of the European Union (subject matters of the second-year-course International and EU Law). EU Substantive Law complements the other courses of the "European Integration" curriculum by bringing the legal perspective into the study of the European Union.
Expected learning outcomes
Students will become familiar with different types of sector-specific EU legislation and with the proper technical language necessary to describe them. They will become capable to apply the knowledge acquired by critically assessing real-life cases, in order to understand whether EU legislation applies, which right/obligation it establishes and for who, or whether a piece of national legislation complies with EU law or not. Case studies, presentations, simulation games will be available for attending students, as part of a dynamic process of learning, involving interactive feedback between the learner and educator
