Learning objectives
Students have to learn basic notions of the profession and acquire a general knowlege in history of italian and european podiatry; Students have to learn specific tasks of the profession to understand relationships with other health figures and recognize the limits of their own professional sphere; furthermore they have to acquire general principles of podologic performances through assessment of the patient and compilation of a specific chart thus providing datas that can be used either in epidemiologic researches or in the assessment of the specific therapeutic act; through learning of professional acts, of various types of instruments, tools and methods, students will obtain all the knowledge needed to formulate a therapeutical protocol, will acquire basic principles for primary prevention and should be able to provide documents for legal purposes and quality control.

Nel corso di insegnamnento di Podologia 1 lo studente deve apprendere le conoscenze di base riguardanti il mansionario Podologico, la pianificazione del lavoro, l'ergonomia e la sicurezza di lavoro, i piani di riferimento del corpo nello spazio, i fondamentali della podologia e conoscenza degli strumenti propri della professione, anatomia palpatoria, calceologia e le basi per la riceca scientifica in EBM

Prerequisites for admission
Knowledge of general and specific anatomy and physiology are requested

Assessment methods and Criteria
At the end of each semesters students have to take an ongoing evaluation made of 30 written questions based on the semestral program.
At the end of the 2nd year they have to pass the examination of Podologia 1 consisting in 30 open and closed questions.
At the end of the course of study students have to take the exam of Podologia 2 made of 60 open and closed questions on the whole three-year program. The ones who pass it will sustain an oral exam to confirm the written evaluation.
At the end of each semester there will be a lesson during which students can ask for explanations about treated issues.
The marks obtained in the various examinations will be displayed on a dedicated board inside the department and the students can discuss the exam and ask for an additional oral assessment
