Learning objectives
The MIC Interdepartmental Research Centre (Fashion Image Consumption) has launched the initiative for the publication of a newspaper dedicated to textiles, clothing, fashion and design created by students of the Master's degree course in Publishing, communication and fashion cultures.
The work of the workshop will lead to the creation of an issue of the magazine Groundbreaking, done in both print and digital format. In the first meeting, the people who will fill the required roles will be selected, with in particular editors, PR, graphic designers, pagers, photographers, editorial secretaries and other collaborators.
Expected learning outcomes
Knowledge: The course aims to provide students with knowledge and practical tools regarding fashion journalism, with particular reference to technical and cultural aspects.
Skills: Ability to work professionally within the editorial staff of a fashion magazine.

Lectures will be delivered remotely, principally in synchronous format via Teams.
On the course page on Ariel, students will be able to find all the information on the lectures and any changes to the programme and its related documents in case of lockdown.
The final work will take in ways which will be communicated during the lessons.

The MIC interdepartmental research center (Fashion image consumption) has launched a few years ago the initiative of the creation of a journal dedicated to textiles, clothing, fashion and design created by the students of the degree course in Publishing, cultures of communication and fashion , together with students from other courses interested in the subject, entitled Groundbreaking. The attendance of this professionalizing workshop will lead to the creation of a new issue of the magazine, made both in paper and digital format. In the first meeting, the people who will fill the required roles will be selected, with particular reference to editors, PR, graphic designers, photographers, editorial secretaries and other collaborators. No previous expertise is required. The teacher tutor, Letizia Gonzalez, was President of the Order of Journalists of Lombardy; deputy director of the magazine Eva by Rusconi publisher; fashion editor-in-chief of Amica, Bella and Pratica (all magazines published by Rcs Media Group); collaborator of Capital and Europeo (same publishing group) in the fashion and costume sector.

In the various meetings that will be flexibly fixed in relation to the needs of the work, students will acquire a greater and specific competence regarding the roles and knowledge related to fashion journalism.
The first meeting will take place on October 13, 2020, 2:30 pm-4:30pm on Teams.
Subsequent lessons will always take place on Teams.

Teaching methods
Lessons are supported by slides and electronic materials. Attendance is mandatory.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The final work consists in writing an article for the journal, aimed at ascertaining the acquired skills, together with the assigned tasks for the publication of the issue.
