Teaching Workshop: Organizing a Film Festival
A.Y. 2020/2021
Learning objectives
The objective of the laboratory is to provide students with the basic competencies for operating in the organization and management of cultural events, in particular related to cinema. For this purpose, the main international and Italian festivals will be analysed to understand their messages, function and contents.
The fundamental roles for the organization and management of a Festival will be explained in depth: from the artistic direction to the press office, from the programming office to the administrative department. In particular, the importance of communication via web and social networks, the searching criteria for the films on the billboard, the logic of setting up the daily program and the choice of guests will be considered thoroughly.
A practical part will follow during which students will have to design and plan, with the guidance of the teacher, a film festival.
