Learning objectives
The course deals with the issue of business management from a strategic perspective. The lessons will combine theoretical and operational aspects of the subject, both for large companies, developed at an international level and for Italian SMEs and start-ups.
The key points of the course will be the analysis of the external and internal context of the company, the management and assessment of business risk and the development of business models and business plans in innovative competitive contexts.
The course will be supplemented by exercises and some company testimonials.

Expected learning outcomes
Knowledge of business strategic aspects from a modern and operational profile. Learning of a flexible risk assessment methodology. Ability to analyze and write business models and business plans.

The program will focus on the following main themes:
- Company: governance and stakeholders;
- External context analysis (PESTAL analysis);
- Internal context analysis;
- Definition of strategic outputs:
o Tool for the drafting of business models;
o Guide to the development of a three-year business plan;
- Business risk management:
o Identification of the risk;
o Risk assessment;
o Preparation of measures to mitigate the risk.
- Start-ups and SMEs: finance and create innovation.

Prerequisites for admission
There are no further pre-requisites with respect to the provisions of the didactic regulations.
Teaching methods
The lessons will be delivered in presence at the University. For those who have a proven situation of fragility, to be documented as required by the University regulations, it will be possible to access the lessons in synchronous mode on MS Teams.

Assessment methods and Criteria
At the end of the lessons, a written test will be provided for attending students. Alternatively, an oral exam will be provided.
