Learning objectives
The objectives of the course are to provide a comprehensive overview of the diseases of the anterior segment of the eye (ocular surface, cornea and lens), including etiology, pathogenesis, clinics, diagnostics, and medical and surgical management. Diagnostic exams (clinical and morphological) and the role of the ophthalmological assistant in their execution and interpretation will be especially emphasized. A specific focus will be dedicated to laser surgery and the key operator role.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student will have acquired the competences required to properly perform and read clinical and morphological anterior segment diagnostics (particular focus on photographic, topographic, and microscopic techniques), understanding the outcomes in the context of the clinical picture. Moreover, he/she will have acquired competences critical for the role of key operator.
