The student will learn which are the principal and most updated techniques used in biotechnology research practice. The student will examine and master the recent literature about any given scientific topic of her/his interest by taking advantage of the search through databases and she/he will learn how to apply and critically discuss the data reported in literature autonomously with respect to her/his own experimental results. The student will learn how to analyze her/his experimental results without bias, being able to recognize possible artifacts and pitfalls and she/he will learn how to analyze them by means of the most appropriate statistical tools.
Expected learning outcomes
The student has to be able to: 1) design a set of experiments to prove or disprove the theories subjects of her/his research project; 2) analyze the results of these experiments also from a statistical point of view; 3) place and critically discuss them in the framework of the existing literature. Finally, the student has to be able to write a manuscript reporting the experimental results obtained during her/his internship by placing them within the updated scientific context.
