Learning objectives
The course will introduce the basic concepts of etiopathogenesis and diagnosis of periodontal disease.
Methods for clinically determining the health status of periodontal and peri-implant tissues will be presented.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student will have acquired knowledge on the etiopathogenesis of periodontal diseases, risk factors for the onset and progression of periodontitis and peri-implantitis and will be able to collect the periodontal indexes useful to classify and the re-evaluate of the state of the periodontal and peri-implant tissues.

Knowledge of oral anatomy and physiology
Knowledge of the fundamentals of microbiology
Assessment methods and Criteria
The learning will be assessed by means of a written test on open questions, eventually integrated by an oral exam.
