Learning objectives
This course aims to introduce students to an analytical study of global geopolitics in modern times in order to answer its main questions and puzzles. Among these latter the course will ask whether territory is becoming less important, or instead we are returning to a salience of borders, shedding light on the major global trends we are witnessing.
Expected learning outcomes
By the end of the course, students will have acquired the conceptual building blocks and core elements necessary to interpret global politics. They will have reviewed essential scholarly works, as well as evaluating concepts' declinations and limitations with case studies. They will have learned to use long term data and historical analyses to trace and understand major historical global trends.
