Learning objectives
· to provide the tools to competently conduct a medical interview that takes into account the patient's health awareness and the need for a complete medical and psychosocial assessment.
· to provide the tools (in terms of both language and manual skills) for a correct semeiological approach to the patient as the first medical act of clinical methodology.
· to provide the tools to acquire the ability to competently perform a complete objective examination
· to provide the tools to acquire the ability to perform organ/district specific semiological maneuvers including basic instrumental maneuvers.
· to integrate the knowledge acquired during the semiotics and systematics course in the development of clinical-diagnostic reasoning through an assessment, plan and problem list.
· to provide the criteria for a correct diagnostic approach of biochemical and instrumental order .
Expected learning outcomes
· to demonstrate knowledge of the individual components and general organization of a comprehensive medical interview
· to be able to gather the patient's medical history.
· To have acquired the necessary knowledge of manual dexterity for a proper semeiological approach to the patient, as the first medical act of clinical methodology.
· to knowledge of basic clinical skills necessary to achieve competency objectives, including the processes of interviewing, physical diagnosis, communication and clinical reasoning.
· to know how to express in terms of appropriate language both the patient's clinical history and the semeiological data noted by clinical examination.
· to present a complete history and formulate a list of problems.
· to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with patients, families, colleagues, and supervisors in order to convey pertinent information
· to have acquired the ability to complete the collection of clinical data and clinical semeiotics data with proper setting of the request for instrumental semeiotics examinations, with particular reference to ultrasound semeiotics (bed-side and emergency).

Prerequisites for admission
Professional activities pursue and are an integral part of the objectives and results of the learning expected from teaching, as they confer the skills and abilities useful for applying knowledge in clinical practice.
Assessment methods and Criteria
At the end of the course, an oral examination is performed; the test is based on an oral question by at least two teachers responsible for different modules (about 15-20 minutes for each teacher).
During the test, the following elements are evaluated: knowledge of the topics presented during the course, ability of critical reasoning on the study carried out; clarity of the oral presentation and the correct use of specialized lexicon. After collective evaluation of the teachers involved in the exam, the mark is expressed in thirtieths.
