Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with the definition of the subject, the illustration of its object, notions of crime, its author, social reaction, the victim.
To this end, the course will provide elements of sociological, psychological, psychopathological and obviously legal research, always aimed at the study of the criminal phenomenon.
The aim of the course is also to illustrate a series of criminal phenomena, their characteristics, their progress, the theories that can help explain them.
Cases drawn from the professor's case study will be presented.
The aim will be to analyze the phenomena of collective violence from a criminology of human rights point of view.

Expected learning outcomes

- A knowledge of criminological theories and criminal phenomena, obtained through the study of the textbook and attendance to lectures.
- The ability to relate and compare the various theories and phenomena with each other, also evaluating their impact on social reaction.
- The ability for the student to continue and deepen the study of the subject independently, thanks to the mastery of the basic concepts obtained during the course.
The reflections carried out by the professor during the lessons - also in the dialogue with the participating students - as well as the thematic meetings that will be held during the course, with experts in the subject, will be specifically addressed to the development of this competence.

Prerequisites for admission
To take the Criminology exam, law students must have already passed the Criminal Law exam.
Teaching methods
The lessons will be held by the professor and integrated with power points used during the same.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The exam will take place in oral form, with evaluation expressed in thirtieths (30/30).
