Learning objectives
The aim of the teaching is to acquire the advanced, ethical-deontological and regulatory skills of
- critical analysis of nursing ethics and deontology theories and methods and their application in advanced practice ;
- identification and critical reading of new tensions in the relationship between nursing profession and society in health care;
- application of contents knowledge and limitations to the ethical commitments of nurses in the relationship with the person, with the aim of pursuing his/her health and well-being, encouraging his/her participation in the choices of care and contributing to the equal distribution of resources in health care;
- systematic analysis of ethical problems and moral dilemmas detectable in nursing practice;
- critical analysis of different ethical perspectives guiding ethical decision making in practice within the health care system;
- analysis of critical capacity to justify ethical, legal and professional decision-making in practice,
- critical analysis, regulatory and ethical, of the development of roles and their impact on the aims and levels of advanced practice in the professional and organisational settings
- critical analysis and development of the professional basis of decision making in advanced clinical practice;
- critical analysis and enhancement of the skills needed to deal with intra- and inter-professional role conflicts in order to express and guide responsible professional behaviour.

Expected learning outcomes
The student will analyse with an advanced professional perspective the ethical and deontological problems of nursing practice according to methods derived from ethical theories for the identification of solution alternatives.
He/she will analyse the advanced practice roles of the nurse in the society and in the social and health contexts with reference to the evolution of the legislation in order to identify perspectives of change useful to pursue the improvement of the health of the population.
To Apply advanced knowledge to ethical problems and dilemmas of nursing practice with reference to nursing ethics and regulation of roles in practice.
To analyse with an advanced professional perspective the impact of new nursing roles on the practice and improvement of nursing care in clinical, hospital, non-hospital and residential settings taking into account inter- and intra-professional relationships.
He/she will analyse the advanced practice roles of the nurse in the society and in the social and health contexts with reference to the evolution of the legislation in order to identify perspectives of change useful to pursue the improvement of the health of the population.
