Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with:
i) the ability to correctly propose the various diagnostic procedures by image, even with radionuclides;
ii) the ability to evaluate the cost / benefit ratios in the choice of diagnostic procedures;
iii) knowledge of the correct therapeutic applications of interventional radiology and of nuclear medicine;
iv) the knowledge of radiobiological principles of ionizing radiation as well as the clinical indications of radiation therapy in oncology;
v) knowledge of the principles of radio protection.
Expected learning outcomes
Students:
i) must interpret the diagnostic imaging reports;
ii) are able to propose the correct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures;
iii) are able to understand the biological effects of ionizing radiation and how applying them to the treatment of the more frequent neoplastic diseases.
