Learning objectives
The course provides skills for autonomous instruction, management, and efficient training of a mixed class of adults through the appropriate use of music, total body exercises, and small equipment. The course provides the basics for lesson planning and execution in conditioning (abs-glutes-thighs, total body, soft gymnastics) and simple choreography routines (aerobics, step, pre-choreography), as well as the tools for conducting a lesson.
Expected learning outcomes
Students will acquire the skills in progressive lesson planning (basics in conditioning and choreography), with the aid of music, recognition of the masterbeat, and the use of musical tempo and phrasing during lessons. Students will acquire the skills for managing a mixed class of adults with/without the use of music, the use of verbal and nonverbal cueing, and leadership appropriate for each lesson.
