Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student that has successfully learned the subject will have gained a deep knowledge of the topics that will have been dealt with during the course, with the acquisition of a reasoning method suitable to deal with the complex legal issues that underline the international relations of contracts and business.

- The sources of the matter: domestic law, international conventions, European Union law.
- Jurisdiction in civil and commercial matters: the European system and the residual role of Italian law.
- Italian rules of private international law and applicable law: general matters. Internationally mandatoru rules and public policy
Contractual obligations (in particular, the issue of the international sales contract).
- Non-contractual obligations. Information on the non-contractual liability of undertakings.
- Undertakings and the protection of collective values
- The impact of international economic sanctions on international trade contracts

Prerequisites for admission
the following exam is propaedeutic to the course: Institutions of International Law and European Union; it is highly recommended to take the final examination after having succesfully passed the exam of Institutions of civil procedure law and criminal procedure law.
Teaching methods
Particular attention will be paid to the analysis of practical cases, also through the study of judgments on the subject, with active participation of students.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The exam is held in oral form. The oral test, lasting about 20 minutes, aims to verify, in addition to the knowledge of the notions, the ability to address and critically solve legal issues through the re-elaboration of acquired knowledge and, for attending students, the understanding and assessment of the cases addressed.
