Learning objectives
The course aims to provide adequate basic knowledge about the Italian language, which will be investigated in its structural aspects (phonetics, morphology, lexicon, syntax, textuality) and evolutionary, focusing in particular on the developments that have affected the Italian language from the second twentieth century to today. To a brief historical-linguistic profile will follow a sociolinguistic overview of the varieties in the current Italy (Italian standard and neostandard, languages for special purposes, bureaucratic Italian, languages of the young people, Italian of foreigners etc.) thus providing a first theoretical framework for concepts that will be developed during the three-year period within the other disciplines, linguistic and not, provided by the Course of Studies.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will know critically the fundamental structures of the Italian language, its main evolutionary centers and the current Italian repertoire, gaining awareness of its variety. The examination modalities will be finalized to test such competences and to verify that the student has reached the purpose of the teaching, that is that, coherent with the objective of the Course of Studies, to create a professional figure with qualified competence as a culturally conscious language expert.
