Learning objectives
The course aims to provide the basic notions to:
1. have a general view of the organization of a "laboratory system" that meets the needs of a correct medical practice.
2. know the basic concepts of computerization of an analysis laboratory.
3. acquire the basic principles of epidemiology to interpret the results of scientific publications and to collaborate in the execution of epidemiological studies.
4. know the main methodologies of disease prevention and control to understand the basis of different intervention strategies.
5. understand the configuration and dynamics of the health sector and specifically of the NHS;
6. understand the organization and governance of a health organization/hospital and the role of lab medicine in the evolving scenario of corporatization of health services;
7. understand the evolution of the role of lab professionals, with reference to expectations on their contributions to economic sustainability, efficiency and clinical governance of health services delivery;
8. develop competencies on fundamental tools for the future professional development: business planning, budgeting, business modeling, HTA
Expected learning outcomes

There are no prerequisites for admission.
Assessment methods and Criteria
The learning assessment takes place through the final exam, which verifies the acquisition of the knowledge and skills expected for the integrated course through a written test that takes 1 hour and a half.
The test is based on quizzes with multiple choice answers.
The evaluation is a grade expressed out of thirty.
