Teaching Workshop: Bibliographical Research and Electronic Resources for Ma Students (C73). Methods and Instruments

Learning objectives
The course aims at providing MA students with:
1) the necessary theoretical and methodological framework of an online bibliographical research
2) knowledge for a targeted use of the main online information resources dedicated to foreign languages and literatures, including the free ones
3) transversal skills and practical tools that can be used both to carry out their research effectively and to be able to document on any subject with a critical spirit
4) knowledge of the main specialized resources within the University of Milan digital library
5) basic knowledge of the forms and methods of creation and transmission of disciplinary academic literature with special reference to Open Access

Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course participants may have acquired the awareness of the complexity of the online information universe with special reference to the disciplinary fields of foreign languages and literatures. Moreover the students will have a synthetic picture of the theoretical-methodological notions underlying a bibliographic research.
The learners will be also able to carry on independently an online bibliographical research thanks to the resources presented and the skills acquired, also through the many exercises done.
Students will also be equipped with the specialist expertise needed on the main online resources both in the University digital library and open access.
