Learning objectives
This course aims at furnishing expertise concerning the understanding, knowledge, specific skills and competences of this sport. Particularly, methodology, didatics and basics of tennis will be taught on the basis of an academy school of tennis.
Expected learning outcomes
The student will be able to plan, organize and realize a multi-year workplan on the themes&topics of the course itself. The student will have acquired basic technical skills in order to explain and teach clearly the key-issues of the matter from a technical, tactical and strategic point of view.

Content
Theoretical part: history of tennis in Italy and around the world; recreational and competitive tennis; functional and physiological model of competitive tennis, strategies, techniques, tactics of the game; methodological and didactic models for teaching tennis.
Practical part: methodology and didactics of preparatory and complementary activities; physical preparation, pre-technical and essential skills.
Prerequisites for admission
No previous knowledge required.

Teaching method
Lectures are held in the lecture hall (33%) and exercises on the court (66%). Attendance is obligatory.

Assessment methods and Criteria
Exam procedure
The exam is composed of a practical and a written part. The practical part is graded from 0 to 5 points. The written part is graded 30/30 points; a grade of over 30 points is awarded honors. The passing grade on the written part is 18/30. The practical part entails the preparation and execution of a lesson on a topic assigned by the instructor. The written part is composed of 15 open questions with short answers on topics covered during the course.
