Chinese

The course is aimed at students who have no knowledge of the Chinese language and aims to provide the basis for learning the standard Chinese language (putonghua), spoken and written, in everyday and routine contexts. The learning of phonetics and the writing of characters will be initially emphasized, and then continue with the first elementary notions of grammar and syntax. For students who already have previous backgrounds, a language maintenance course with a mother tongue teacher will be organized in the first semester.

At the end of the course the students will be able, in addition to reading and translating the texts of the manual, to have conversations in everyday and routine situations, such as introducing themselves, introducing family and friends, greeting and thanking, speaking of time and seasons, describing the place where you live, presenting study courses, shopping, etc. They will be able to recognize and write 400 characters to form more than 400 words.
