Learning objectives
The course provides the broad outlines of contemporary history and the tools necessary to critically understand historical periods, their links and the principal themes (political, economic, social, cultur-al, religious) since 1815 to the present day.
Expected learning outcomes
Knowledge and understanding
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
- Recognize the fundamental lexicon for understanding historical events of the Contemporary Age, in their development.
- Establish space-time correlations among the complex dynamics of the contemporary world, with particular attention to the evolution of modern tought.

Ability to apply knowledge and understanding
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
- Use appropriately the sources, the basic bibliographic and IT tools, and historical maps for historiographic research.

Making judgements
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
- Interpret the verification of the authenticity of the information found

Learning skills
At the end of the course the student will be able:
- Use the sources and the basic bibliographic and IT tools for historiographic research in an au-tonomous and appropriate way
