Learning objectives
The aim of the final examination, which consists of discussing and writing a dissertation under the guidance of a supervisor, is to test the student's mastery of knowledge, methods of analysis, and interpretive techniques in the concrete analysis and discussion of a specific philosophical question, about the field of her / his specialization.
Expected learning outcomes
Knowledge and understanding

After having written and discussed her/his dissertation, the student

- has an in-depth knowledge of a given philosophical question and she/he can analyze and discuss it in the frame of the contemporary scientific debate;
- has an in-depth understanding of the complexity of her/his research topics and learns to appreciate the questionability of broadly accepted solutions.

Ability to apply knowledge and understanding

After having written and discussed her/his dissertation, the student

- can apply philosophical methods and techniques to the solution of philosophical questions and she/he is able to understand them in their historical frame;
- can argue rigorously her/his position and she/he can support it based on pieces of evidence;
- can display and persuasively discuss her/his ideas;
- has adequate software skills for writing and editing texts;
- can apply analytical methods and reasoning techniques also to non-philosophical problems.
