Learning objectives
The educational objective of the final exam - which includes the development of an experimental research project, the subsequent drafting of a written dissertation and its presentation and critical discussion - is to provide students with a thorough and concrete understanding of the scientific method in the biological field and its practical application to ecological and evolutionary problems or related to the study of the adaptations of living organisms and biodiversity.
Expected learning outcomes
At the conclusion of the activities related with the final exam, the student must have acquired the ability to investigate a scientific problem, to design an experimental strategy to address it, to carry out the planned experimental activities and to interpret the results. The student, thanks to the laboratory and / or field activities carried out, preferably in the context of the activities of a research group, or followed by one or more researchers, must have acquired critical judgment skills of the obtained results. Thanks to the writing, the presentation and the discussion of the dissertation, the student will have acquired the ability to contextualize the results of an experimental research in the biological field, to effectively communicate biological knowledge of ecological and evolutionary nature in written and oral form, as well as to continue, during its future activity, the study of emerging problems connected with the study of organisms in an evolutionary and ecological key.
